Make sure you. pre-qualify who is coming to your banquet by inviting quality potential donors. "A room of 10 people who can raise $100,000 is better than a room filled with 100 people who can raise $10,000." -Tim DeTellis
Host a special table host VIP reception prior to the banquet along with your board members. This provides a focused time to thank the table hosts for their vital efforts toward making the banquet a success. "People will remember how you made them feel longer than they will remember what you said." -Tim DeTellis
Share a vision more than a need. Once people see the potential, then solving the problem is the only options - they must give to reach the goal. "People give more to vision than they do to need." -Tim DeTellis
Focus on people. The banquet time must be focused on the people in the room as donors, the center's purpose, and those that the center reaches. This is accomplished by first making your audience feel welcome and comfortable, second by sharing how the center is accomplishing its vision, and thirdly by the donors seeing first hand who the center touches each day. During the early portion of my presentation I will recognized your entire team and the guest pastors. "The three most important people at a banquet are your team (staff, volunteers, board members), your donors, and your clients." -Tim DeTellis
Enjoy the celebration! Passion is contagious and people want to be on the winning team. Present a positive cheerful time of celebration along with a reference to the urgency of involvement thru giving because the cause is greater than ourselves. "God wants us to be a apart of something bigger than ourselves so that only He can receive all the glory." -Tim DeTellis
